Happy 4th Birthday

CD celebrated her 4th birthday ...
we didn't have any snow until the morning of her party and I think that our theme may have had something to do with it!! A Gingerbread Girl party!

This was my first ever attempt at PSE (it's been altered a bit to remove some details for blog world). The top of it reads "I'll run and run with a leap and a twirl to celebrate a birthday with the Gingerbread Girl." (exerpt from The Gingerbread Girl by Lisa Campbell Ernst)

We had friends play at a local gymnastics club for 1 1/2 hrs ...

Into the party room for cake and snacks ...

Back to play some more and then home.
Treat bags included gingerbread playdough, a gingerbread boy or girl cookie cutter, licorice whip hair and a gingerbread cookie.

Happy Birthday to my sweet little Gingerbread Girl!!

Trick or Treat

CJ went to her very first concert with her bff!
She had the full pop-star experience... her bbf's Mom treated her to a hair updo, she wore her 'leather jacket' and 'rock-star leather' boots. Both the girls got concert t-shirts to help them remember their first concert. (We came in the back entrance and walked right up to the merchandise booth, we had maybe a 5 minute wait. As we walked around we heard that many parents had been waiting in line for 40 minutes!!! Wow!)

CJ wasn't too sure what to think of the opening acts but was happy when Selena finally arrived on stage. Her encore song was one of their favorites, "Who Says." Great message for young girls to believe in themselves.

We're the Brownies

"We're the Brownies
here's our aim,
lend a hand
and play the game."

I became a Fairy!

I'm looking forward to a fun year!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Okay, so I'm a wee bit late but .... our neighbours to the south are giving thanks next week so Happy Thanksgiving!

The girls were in charge of setting the table. They decided to have the same 'fancy' table decor as one of their favourite restaurants ~ Montana's... we covered the table with brown butcher paper and they used Sharpies to draw place mats around each plate. Then they dug into my stamps and decorated the rest with leaves and other fall stamps.

We saw the paper bag drumstick here

We were fortunate enough to celebrate Thanksgiving with my brother and my sister and my 3 nieces....

BFF Leather Bracelets

I have see bracelets similar to these wrapped around the wrists of many people in the city and thought "we could do that."

CJ and her BFF spent the afternoon together one day laughing, visiting and listening to music in her room before they asked to 'make a craft.' They LOVE to create so I had this little project ready for them.

We took long thin strips of leather, ink pad, some stamps ~ alphabet, inspirational words, dots and some bling.

The girls got busy picking out just the right words to describe themselves and their friendship.... I think they both but BFF on theirs and CJ put something on it like "Bffs est. 2004."

CJ even made one for me & I love it!!!
